Prenatal Care
All prenatal care is done in office. Home visits are an option for some clients with specific circumstances.
What to expect:
Monthly visits until 28 weeks, visits every 2 weeks until 36 weeks, weekly visits until birth.
Initial health biography and history
Lifestyle + nutrition + herbal recommendations
Health assessments of you and baby at each visit, including: belly checks for estimating fetal weight, growth, position and fluid levels, blood pressure, heart rate, pulse and overall wellness.
Individualized lab work + screening
Time for questions + education + planning
Referrals to a community of perinatal healthcare providers
Community centered childbirth education series
Labor and Birth
Birth is a normal physiologic event that tends to unfold as it should when in the comfort and safety of your home or Birth center with familiar faces.
What to expect:
assessing fetal heart tones
monitoring blood pressure + pulse + temperature
tracking fluid intake + output
assessing your comfort + rest + nourishment
a well trained birth assistant
Suturing, up to a 2nd degree tear, as needed
Herbal bath
3-4 hours immediate postpartum care after birth including a full newborn exam + support establishing breastfeeding + light tidying up
Postpartum Care
Support for your family and its newest member.
For baby:
2-3 home visits during the first 2 weeks, office visits at 4 and 6 weeks postpartum.
Vitals + wellness assessment
Weight checks
Visual jaundice screening, lab work as desired.
Nursing + sleep + soothing support
Monitoring for normal elimination patterns
Cord care
Latch + tongue tie assessment (referrals as needed)
Decorative footprints (if desired)
Birth certificate and SSN paperwork
CCHD screening, hearing screen, blood typing, and newborn metabolic screening
For you:
2-3 home visits during the first 2 weeks, office visits at 4 and 6 weeks postpartum.
24 hour text/phone call access for urgent matters
Vitals + wellness assessment
Nutritional + herbal support
Breastfeeding support
Referrals to a lactation consultant (as needed)
Perineal and uterine healing support
Emotional wellness + nourishment + hormone balance
Referrals to a community of postpartum care providers
Family leave paperwork
1 Lactation visit with Megan Macy CLC, or other IBCLC/CLC if unavailable
Investment
Juniper Midwifery’s fee includes all prenatal, birth, and postpartum care.
Midwifery fee: $6,500
Midwifery fee is $6,500 for all inclusive pricing. Ultrasounds and lab work are outsourced and are billed separately, however, a cash pay package of $500 is available for lab work. Repeat client discount of $400 offered.
If birth center birth is desired, there is a birth center facility fee that is paid directly to Northwest Midwifery Collective prior to delivery.
Sliding scale fee available for those with financial need when schedule allows.
Juniper Midwifery is considered out of network with all traditional insurance plans.
Juniper Midwifery does accept most Washington Apple Health Plans.
